Congratulations on your acceptance to Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School!
Admitted students are eligible to RSVP for the events below, please do not RSVP if you are not an admitted student. We look forward to seeing you!
A common question we receive is, “Should I attend more than one event?” While your location and availability should guide your decision, each of our events is intentionally designed to offer a unique experience. If you choose to attend more than one, you can expect something new—and worthwhile—each time.
Financing Your Legal Education (Virtual): April 14, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Meet the Director of Financial Aid and learn about financing your legal education. Ask questions and feel confident about important financial decisions.
Mock Class with Criminal Justice Expert, Professor Jonathan Rapping (Virtual): May 4, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
You will be provided materials to review in advance of the event to be prepared for a real law school class experience. This event will exhibit a typical day-in-the-life class for Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School students. After the mock class, there will be a brief discussion led by the Office of Admissions about the AJMLS J.D. programs, including the Criminal Justice Certificate Program, of which Professor Rapping leads as Director. Professor Rapping teaches Criminal Law; Criminal Procedure; Advanced Criminal Procedure; and Criminal Justice Lawyering. He is also a MacArthur Genius Fellow, Faculty Director of the Criminal and Civil Justice Institute, and Co-Founder of Gideon’s Promise.
Life Outside the Classroom (Virtual): May 14, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Hosted by: Professor Mecca Anderson, Director of Externship Programs & Associate Professor of Legal Practice and Ms. Allyn Haynes, Externship Coordinator.
During this session, Professor Anderson will discuss the vital role that hands-on experience plays in your legal education. You will learn about the diverse range of externship opportunities available to you, which allow you to gain practical skills, network with legal professionals, and apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world legal challenges. Whether you are interested in judicial clerkships, public interest law, or are undecided, our externship programs are designed to help you bridge the gap between theory and practice.
