On Friday, April 17, 2026, members of the Criminal Law Section and Public Interest Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association gathered at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) for a joint fellowship breakfast.
The event provided an opportunity for attorneys from both sections to connect, strengthen professional relationships across practice areas, and participate in a joint section meeting. Students were invited to attend the breakfast, giving them the opportunity to engage directly with practicing attorneys and learn more about careers in criminal law and public interest practice.
In addition to the joint section breakfast presentations, attendees were welcomed by Dean Martin Ellin and heard remarks from Professor Jonathan Rapping about the school’s Criminal and Civil Justice Institute (CCJI) and the work the institute is undertaking to support the surrounding community. After the program, attendees enjoyed a tour of the Institute.
Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School extends its sincere appreciation to the members of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Criminal Law and Public Interest Law Sections for their participation in this collaborative event. Among the section leaders in attendance were Charles Cullen, Furshawn Shah, Judge Ashley Drake, Emily Rutledge Early, and Sarah Austin.
