Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School is honored to announce Professor Jonathan Rapping was named a 2014 MacArthur Genius Fellow for the impact his non-profit organization, Gideon’s Promise has made on society and the legal community. The MacArthur Fellow Program awards unrestricted fellowships to talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction. Dean Malcolm L. Morris cordially invites you to attend an evening honoring Professor Rapping and his accomplishments on November 18, 2014. To honor Professor Rapping, the law school will host a reception and screening of the HBO documentary, Gideon’s Army – a film that depicts a day in the life of three Gideon’s Promise public defenders and sheds light on struggles they face in providing quality defense to the poor. The event will be hosted at the Blackburn Conference Center, located adjacent to the law school at 26265 Spring Street. Parking for the event will be available in the law school parking deck, accessible from 18th Street (between West Peachtree Street and Spring Street).
