Suzanne Oldweiler ’25 returned to AJMLS to speak with Professor Elizabeth Jaffe’s Domestic Relations class about child custody litigation, bar exam preparation, and client counseling.
Now an associate at Kessler & Solomiany, LLC, Oldweiler practices exclusively in family law. During her time at AJMLS, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the John Marshall Law Journal (2024-2025), launched the Family Law Society’s “Coffee with a Family Lawyer” program, and externed with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation Safe Families Office, where she assisted survivors of domestic violence. She was also selected as a Pupil in the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.
Drawing on her experiences as both a law student and practicing attorney, Oldweiler offered students practical insights into the transition from law school to practice and the realities of representing family law clients.
Professor Jaffe regularly invites practicing attorneys to her Domestic Relations class to share their experiences and provide students with firsthand perspectives on the practice of family law.
