Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) proudly congratulates alumna Antonette “Toni” Igbenoba (’17) on leading the State Bar of Georgia’s Privacy & Technology Law Section as it was named the 2025–2026 Section of the Year. Igbenoba traveled to Jacksonville, Florida, for the State Bar of Georgia Annual Meeting, where she accepted the award on behalf of the Section from the President of the State Bar of Georgia on Friday, June 12, 2026.
One of the State Bar of Georgia’s 52 sections, the Privacy & Technology Law Section serves more than 900 members across the state. During her tenure as Chair (June 2025–June 2026), the Section expanded its membership, delivered 29 educational programs, including AI-focused CLEs and the 40th Annual Privacy & Technology Law Forum, launched a Generative AI Committee, strengthened mentorship opportunities for law students and young attorneys, and donated nearly $14,000 to legal and community organizations.
Toni currently serves as Global Privacy Counsel for AXIS Capital, where she advises on global privacy, data protection, and emerging technology issues. Her career in privacy law began while she was a second-year student at AJMLS, when she first became involved with the State Bar of Georgia’s Privacy & Technology Law Section. Since then, she has continued to build a career dedicated to advancing privacy, technology, and innovation within the legal profession.
“AJMLS played a foundational role in shaping my legal career,” Igbenoba said. “Through externship opportunities, mentorship, and networking events, AJMLS exposed me to the legal community and connected me with opportunities through the State Bar of Georgia that ultimately launched my career in privacy law.”
Receiving the inaugural AJMLS Emerging Leader Award in 2024 made this latest milestone especially meaningful.
“Having the Privacy & Technology Law Section recognized as the State Bar of Georgia’s 2025–2026 ‘Section of the Year’ one year after receiving the Emerging Leader Award is truly a full-circle moment,” she said. “I am proud to represent AJMLS and grateful for the mentors, professors, colleagues, and fellow alumni who invested in me along the way. The law school played an instrumental role in helping me build a career dedicated to privacy, technology, and leadership.”
Toni’s recognition at the State Bar of Georgia Annual Meeting also provided an opportunity to celebrate the strong professional community and relationships that have supported her journey. During the Annual Meeting in Jacksonville, Florida, AJMLS alumni and friends gathered for the AJMLS mixer, further highlighting the lasting connections among graduates and the broader legal community.
AJMLS congratulates Antonette “Toni” Igbenoba on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates her continued leadership and contributions to the legal profession.
