Career Highlights

Assistant Dean Scot Goins received his Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law, where he was an AnBryce Scholarship recipient and was appointed as the Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz Scholar. During his time at New York University School of Law, he served in various capacities representing the student body, including serving as the First-Year Class Representative, Social Chair, and as the President of the Student Bar Association. He was a Staff Editor and member of the Journal of Law and Business, and upon graduation, was the recipient of the Vanderbilt Medal for outstanding contributions to the school of law.

Before attending law school, Dean Goins attended the University of Georgia, where he graduated first in his class and was awarded the designation of First Honor Graduate, Summa Cum Laude, with Highest Honors.

Dean Goins has a passion for student success, especially when it comes to success on the bar exam, and believes that the bar exam should be a stepping stone and never a barrier. Since joining Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2020, he has been instrumental in helping the school achieve new heights in bar exam success. He looks forward to continuing to work with the student body, faculty, and staff to continue lifting the school to new levels of success.
