Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School Launches First Cohort of the Criminal and Civil Justice Institute (CCJI)

Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) is proud to introduce the very first group of students and alumni participating in the Criminal and Civil Justice Institute (CCJI). This program gives participants the chance to gain real-world experience while working on important cases alongside respected attorneys.

The inaugural cohort includes:

  • Ishlah Muhammad (3L), externing with Akil Secret on civil rights and jail litigation cases.
  • James Woodall (2L), interning with Sam Starks and Akil Secret on civil rights and jail litigation cases.
  • Krystal Robledo (Class of 2025), working with Sam Starks on civil rights cases.
  • Ludy Shaw (2L), working with Sam Starks on jail litigation cases.
  • Tyriq Roberts (3L), working with Sam Starks and Erin Coleman on personal injury cases.
  • Zachary Jacobs (3L), working with Torris Butterfield on criminal defense cases.
  • Sydney Lamberson (1L), working with Sam Starks on civil rights cases.
  • Justice Woods (2L), who spent the summer working with Torris Butterfield on criminal defense cases.

Through CCJI, AJMLS students and alumni are sharpening their skills, making connections, and contributing to meaningful work in the legal field.
