SUMMARY:Cultural Sensitivity and the Law
DESCRIPTION:The Student Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and the Office of Student Affairs and Pro Bono Programs are co-sponsoring a panel discussion entitled\, Cultural Sensitivity and the Law. The panel will be comprised of Judge Alvin Wong\, an Atlanta’s John Marshall alumnus; Attorney Tiffany Williams Roberts\, one of Atlanta’s premiere criminal defense and civil rights attorneys; and Professor Munira Charania\, a scholar and college professor who has written extensively in the areas of transnational feminist theory\, queer of color theory\, global violence against women\, sexuality and Islam\, and trauma and capitalism. This discussion will be moderated by Professor Helen de Haven\, one of our tenured professors\, who has worked as staff counsel to the Labor Relations Board and as a litigation attorney for the Tennessee Valley Authority. \nThis program will be held at 3:45 p.m. on April 5th at the Blackburn Conference Center. All students are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there. \n
