SUMMARY:From the Bar to the Bench Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:On March 10\, 2020\, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.\, OutLaw & Allies and the Student Bar Association are hosting From the Bar to the Bench\, a panel discussion featuring various judges\, including Justice Charles Bethel (Georgia Supreme Court)\, Judge Carla McMillian (Georgia Court of Appeals)\, Judge Alvin Wong (Dekalb County State Court)\,  Judge Angela Duncan (Gwinnett County Superior Court)\, and Jeffrey Frazier (Fulton County Magistrate Court).\nThe discussion will be moderated by Judge Mike Jacobs (Dekalb County State Court) and will focus on pathways to the bench\, the characteristics of a good judge\, what judges look for in a judicial law clerk\, how to secure a judicial clerkship\, decorum\, and combating injustice in the courtroom.   At the conclusion of the panel discussion\, we will break into small groups. One judge will be assigned to each group and students will be able to engage with the judges in a more intimate setting. The breakout sessions will last thirty minutes. Food will be served.\n\nThis is a great opportunity to network with and learn from judges at all levels of the judiciary.  If you have any questions or concerns\, or if you would like to submit a question for the panel\, please contact Nicole Rizza at narizza@johnmarshall.edu.\n
