SUMMARY:Black History Month Screening of "Bo Legs"
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Black History Month\, Bo Legs Film\, LLC\, in collaboration with Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School\, is presenting a film screening of “Bo Legs\,” a documentary honoring the legacy of Marvin Arrington\, Sr.\, an esteemed alumnus and a pivotal figure in Atlanta’s history. \nMarvin Arrington\, Sr. was not only a judge on the Superior Court of Fulton County\, but also a venerated politician within the city of Atlanta. His career in public service was marked by significant accomplishments. Elected to the Atlanta Board of Aldermen in 1969\, he served as the President of the Atlanta City Council for an impressive 17 years. A pioneer in education and a trailblazer for civil rights\, he was one of the first African American students admitted to Emory University Law School in 1965. His dedication to breaking down racial barriers and building a more inclusive community is a beacon of inspiration to us all. \nYou can view the trailer here. Refreshments will be served\, and a Q&A session will follow the screening. \nThis is not just a film screening\, but a chance to reflect on the profound impact one individual can have on his community and beyond. It’s also a celebration of the values we hold dear at our law school: dedication to justice\, commitment to public service\, and the continuous effort to pave the way for a more equitable society. \nWhile the event is free\, you must RSVP at Tinyurl.com/BoLegsATL20 and for more information\, visit www.BoLegsATL.com. \n \n
