2012 Class Gift Campaign Update
Over the last two weeks we have received suggested class gift ideas and now seek your help in determining what our class gift will be. Below are the suggestions that have been made.
- Purchase a flag pole and flag to go in front of the Blackburn Center;
- Establish a textbook scholarship fund;
- Purchase new microwaves for the student lounge;
- Purchase 1 or 2 benches for the walkways or the Blackburn Center;
- Purchase engraved plaque with street numbers for the Blackburn Center; and
- Purchase new Bar prep materials for the school.
These are all great suggestions and now we need your help in making a final decision. A 2012 Class Gift poll has been established on the SBA OrgSync web site. Please take a moment to respond to the poll with what you think would be the best class gift. The poll will be available until Friday, February 3, 2012. The Class Gift campaign will be held in the lobby of the 1422 building from February 20th to February 24th. Our goal is 100 percent participation. Thank you all for making this class gift project a huge success!

The Alumni Office invites you to join the official alumni Facebook group! This group is separate from the AJMLS Facebook Page and is a great way to connect with alumni. The alumni Facebook Group is titled “The Official Alumni Group of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School” and can be accessed by clicking here.
LinkedIn is another way to connect to AJMLS alumni. The AJMLS alumni LinkedIn group is also titled “The Official Alumni Group of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School” and can be accessed by clicking here. LinkedIn is a great networking resource, so be sure to take advantage of the alumni LinkedIn group today.
We hope you continue to build connections with AJMLS alumni. They are an invaluable resource to our school and its students.
Alumni Support for Student Organizations
The Alumni Office welcomes the opportunity to assist student organizations when they want to involve alumni in their organization’s events and functions. AJMLS alumni are enthusiastic when asked to return to the school to show their support, and one of the best ways to do that is by supporting a student organization.
If you or your student organization would like to connect to AJMLS alumni, be sure to visit the Alumni Office or email Chad Dillard, Assistant Director of Alumni, at cdillard@johnmarshall.edu. The Alumni Office has numerous means of communicating with our alumni. We can send emails, make phone calls, or mail letters. We also have access to various alumni social media groups and pages. So let us help you build connections with AJMLS alumni.
Donations to Scholarship Funds
The Alumni Office encourages your support of the John Marshall Alumni Association’s various funds. These funds help support the entire AJMLS community. One of the most important goals of these funds is to provide scholarships to deserving AJMLS students. No donation is too small, and there are numerous ways to donate. You can donate online by going to www.johnmarshall.edu/alumni and clicking on the “Make Your Gift” icon. If you prefer, you can mail your gift to the AJMLS Alumni Office, ATTN: Barbara Chelikowsky, 1422 West Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30309.
All donations are made to the John Marshall Law School Alumni Association, which is a section 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization created to benefit the law school and its students. Currently, the Alumni Association raises money for six funds: the Annual Fund, the Endowed Scholarship Fund, the Bobby Lee Cook Scholarship Fund, the Melissa Hamrick Scholarship Fund, the Andy Crawford Scholarship Fund, and the John E. Ryan Endowed Scholarship Fund.
