DEAN'S LIST
To be placed on the Dean's List, a student must achieve a cumulative GPA
of 3.67 or higher at the end of the Spring semester for all work undertaken
during the academic year.
DEAN'S AWARD FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Awarded to the valedictorian from each division of the graduating class.
THE HONORABLE HAROLD M. BANKE ADVOCACY AWARD
This award is given to the outstanding student participant in the American
Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA) National Student Trial Advocacy Competition,
who best evidences the potential to develop into an accomplished litigator.
THE JOHN MARSHALL LAW SCHOOL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO
SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
This award is given to the graduating student who best exemplifies the
tradition of duty and service historically associated with the practice
of law, as determined by the Faculty upon recommendation of the Honors
and Awards Committee.
THE WIG AND GAVEL AWARD
The Wig and Gavel Award is given annually to the graduating student most
likely to succeed in the practice of law, as determined by the judgment
of the Faculty upon recommendation of the Honors and Awards Committee.
THE JOHN MARSHALL LAW SCHOOL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN APPELLATE ADVOCACY
This award is given to the outstanding student participant on a John Marshall Law School moot court competition team.
CALI AWARD
A CALI Award is given to the student receiving the highest grade in each section of each required course.
JOHN MARSHALL LAW SCHOOL BOOK AWARD
This award is given to any student who receives two or more CALI Awards as a John Marshall Law School student.
GRADUATION HONORS
Academic honors at graduation are awarded as follows:
Summa cum laude 3.75 or higher cumulative
Magna cum laude 3.50 and less than 3.75
Cum laude 3.25 and less than 3.50
