Professor McMillian joined John Marshall after a career as a civil litigator, commercial arbitrator, and certified mediator. The focus of his practice centered primarily on complex litigation — class action prosecution and defense, business torts, constitutional torts, appellate matters, and discrimination. Because of this expertise, Professor McMillian was approved as lead counsel by numerous federal and state courts in class and collective actions arising under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. As a scholar, Professor McMillian’s interests include constitutional law, torts, and the depiction of lawyers in popular culture mediums such as film and other art forms.
