Professor Sigman joined the John Marshall Law School faculty in 2007 after teaching for two years in the Legal Writing, Research, and Advocacy Program at Emory University School of Law. Prior to that, he practiced in San Diego, California with Baker & McKenzie and Foley & Lardner where he litigated employment cases (including claims of sex and race discrimination, unpaid wages, and wrongful termination), along with bankruptcy and general commercial matters. Notably, Professor Sigman prosecuted and settled one of the first Title VII contraceptive equity class action lawsuits and has handled several cases from inception to jury verdict. In law school, Professor Sigman was the Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board and a member of the National Moot Court Team, a Teaching Assistant for the Legal Research and Writing Program, and a Student Attorney in the Legal Clinic. As a result, he was named the 1996 Outstanding Graduate and admitted to the Order of the Barristers.
