AJMLS Hosts “What it Means to be a Professional” Event

Join AJMLS and the Office of Student Services for its first Professionalism Series event of the academic year titled, “What it Means to be a Professional” featuring Chief Judge John J. Ellington. Ellington will discuss mistakes commonly made by new lawyers and what judges expect of lawyers who appear before them. He will also explain how to establish and maintain a reputation in the community for being a reputable and competent practitioner and the consequences of failing to do so. Strong emphasis will be placed on maintaining professionalism in an era of social media and the importance of adopting standards of professionalism in while in law school.
The event, which is mandatory for all first-year day and part-time evening students, will be held from 6-7 p.m., on September 27, 2012 at the Blackburn Conference Center.
