Women's Resource Center

The Women’s’ Resource Center’s (WRC) mission is to create a society in which domestic violence no longer exists. They strive to meet the immediate needs of the diverse community of battered women and their children in the Decatur/DeKalb area. Students work as legal advocates assisting women in obtaining Temporary Protective Orders (TPO’s), criminal warrants, child support payment and custody for their children. Advocates help clients explore legal options and alternatives on a case-by-case basis. WRC also offers a free legal clinic every Tuesday evening at 6:00 where women can receive one-on-one consultations with volunteer attorneys.
