All donations are made to the John Marshall Law School Alumni Association, which is a section 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization created to benefit the law school and its students.  Currently, the Alumni Association raises money for six funds: the Annual Fund, the Endowed Scholarship Fund, the Bobby Lee Cook Scholarship Fund, the Melissa Hamrick Scholarship Fund, the Andy Crawford Scholarship Fund, and the John E. Ryan Endowed Scholarship Fund. Below are short summaries of each fund; however, if you would like more information about any of these funds or if you have any other questions, please contact the AJMLS Alumni Office at 404-872-3593 ext. 287.

Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is the main operating fund for the John Marshall Alumni Association and is essential to helping our alumni stay connected to AJMLS. Throughout the year, the Annual Fund subsidizes special events and alumni projects, such as The Advocate and the State Bar reception.

Endowed Scholarship Fund
Donations to this fund will be used to foster and support its growth so that it will be able to provide scholarships to deserving students, on its interest alone. Interest from the fund will be used to pay for tuition, books, and other school-related student expenses. The Alumni Association excitedly looks forward to the day when this fund will be capable of providing sustainable scholarships, each and every year, to many worthy students.  Until then, on behalf of the Alumni Association and this fund’s future recipients, thank you for your dedication to our school’s students and the Endowed Scholarship Fund!

Bobby Lee Cook Scholarship Fund
The Bobby Lee Cook Scholarship Fund was established by a generous $100,000.00 donation from attorney Bobby Lee Cook.  Bobby Lee Cook is widely recognized for his career as a prominent trial attorney and his representation in high profile criminal trials.  In the near future, this fund will provide scholarship money to qualifying AJMLS students.  The Alumni Association hopes the value of this fund will grow through the generosity of people like you.   

Melissa Hamrick Scholarship Fund
This fund has been established to honor the memory of the late Melissa Hamrick, a John Marshall law student who passed away in January 2009 from leukemia.  Melissa was smart, funny, and witty. Although she was a student for only a short time, her adventurous spirit touched many at the law school.  This scholarship fund was established by her classmate, Tracie Henderson (’10).  Each fall, “every penny” in the fund is awarded to a deserving student in the form of a scholarship.  Please join Tracie each year in continuing to honor and support this fund, our students and Melissa’s memory.   

Andy Crawford Scholarship Fund
The Andy Crawford Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 by Pat Crawford to honor the memory of her son Andy Crawford, a AJMLS 1L student who passed away in 2010.  Andy was a great friend, son, mentor, and he was a very generous and kind person.  He loved being a law student and looked forward to building a career that reflected his desire to help others.  Please join us in support of this scholarship fund which will honor Andy’s memory by providing scholarships to deserving AJMLS students.   

John E. Ryan Endowed Scholarship Fund
This fund has been established to honor the late Dean Emeritus John E. Ryan. Scholarships awarded from this fund will go to benefit out-of-state students.  The recipients will be chosen based on their potential to carry out the mission of the law school and succeed academically.
