The John Marshall Law Journal is a student-produced,
legal periodical that is published annually and provides commentary on a single, timely area of Georgia Law.
The Journal is directed at our state’s law makers and is intended to be a helpful tool to Georgia’s legal community.
Each year, the Journal seeks to serve as a forum for expressing different author viewpoints on a given topic.
The John Marshall Law Journal is comprised of several parts.
The Journal publishes articles written by attorneys,
professors or other legal scholars who are either responding to or suggesting legislative or judicial action in Georgia.
The Journal also includes student-authored commentaries focusing on legislative reform in Georgia or notes analyzing and
critiquing recent court decisions in the chosen topic area.
Finally, the Journal is composed of a compilation of legislative initiatives recently introduced into the Georgia Legislature
related to the topic of the journal.
Staff members follow certain legislative initiatives from their inception and after consulting with the sponsoring legislators,
an unbiased rationale for the legislation is presented for the benefit of the state’s legislators and Georgia’s legal community.
Because the John Marshall Law Journal is produced and edited by second and third year law students who have demonstrated
outstanding writing skills and academic success, membership on the Journal is by invitation only and is highly regarded by
the legal community.
